Tonic — Times Square

Times Square sports bar with three floors of endless TVs and a sea of fans whooping and hollering for their favorite footballers (american), footballers (as in soccer), and practically every other sport - both college and pro. Big after work crowd that tends to be a bit younger, often trying to come up with some way to talk to one another. Food is standard pub fare along with some stabs at rolling fancy but stick to the fried stuff.

Genuine Liquorette

Bar below sister business Genuine Superette. Designed to look like liquor store - wire racks fill wall top to bottom with bottles. Has DIY ethos with mixology classes offered by Eben Freeman.

Nassau Coliseum

Eaton

When you can’t get that sought after ticket at MSG or Continental Airlines Arena there’s always the option of the long trek to Nassau Coliseum (or rather, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum) in Long Island. The Up In Smoke Tour (Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, Eminem +) made it a stop and the tour and thought they were patting down at the door, the concern was for guns and not the blunts. Maybe life ain’t to bad in Long Island.

Wicked Willy's

Greenwich Village

Pirate-themed bar with karaoke three nights a week, as well as live music and DJs.

Shea Stadium

Williamsburg

The body is still warm, but Williamsburg has already appropriated the storied name of the former Mets home field for a new live music venue. Shea Stadium is billed as a music and arts space, with room for studio and live recording, film screenings, and even touts its somewhat off-putting all-ages status. Stay tuned, because this can only get weirder.

Oak And Iron

Greenpoint

Upcoming bar from the proprietor of Lady Jay's.

Lavender Lake

Gowanus

Cavernous joint on the banks of the Gowanus.... well sort of on the banks, closes enough to enjoy the view from nearby bridge, or just enjoy the large outdoor space where the best view is of the other hipster patrons that flood this place in the warm weather. Great for large parties and relaxing boozy afternoon. Bar snacks, small plates and limited menu - burgers, chicken, steak, und ein bisten Spaetzle. Ja!

Nurse Bettie

Lower East Side

Inspired by Bettie Page and 1950s era pin-up, expect delicious cocktails and camp. Free Burlesque shows every Wednesday & Thursday night add to the fun!

Weather Up Tribeca

Tribeca

Upcoming downtown version of the popular cocktail lounge, complete with a raw bar.

Roebling Sporting Club

Williamsburg's premiere sports bar, with all major leagues featured on large screens. Yet fear not dear reader, for verily will they provide artisanal bar fare, and have the right types of brown for what ever high brow flavors you favor. And when the games are down, and the lights a low, the disco ball descends and rumps are shaken and eclectic electric slides deployed by enthusiastic patrons who really are just out for a good time.

Kingston Hall

East Village

The folks behind Shoolbred bring Jamaica-themed nightlife to the East Village, with stunning decor and billiards ripe for the clacking.

The Experiment Comedy Gallery

Williamsburg comedy club at the base of the Williamsburg Bridge, providing a venue for eclectic, cutting edge comics. Check website for schedule.

Varieties of draft beer from classic American watery lagers, to rotating selection of craft beers. TVs galore to satisfy the sports aficionado and the necessary complement of bar food to shovel into ones pie hole .

American Whiskey

The Copper Still

East Village haunt serving a death-defying selection of whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, the US, Canada, and Japan. For beer, a host of bar favorites are on tap and in bottles, with rotating seasonal choices filling out the offerings, not to mention a fairly solid wine list. A menu of pub food, from snacks like pickles and cordon bleu fritters to appetizers like Irish smoked salmon and beef sliders to mains like charcuterie, smoked mac and cheese, and a Stills burger with bleu cheese, arugula, and roasted garlic aioli is also available.

Threes Brewing
