The legendary name of CBGBs is resurrected as a music festival from July 5-8, with performances spanning venues like Arlene's Grocery, BB King Blues Club, the Bell House, Best Buy Theatre, Bowery Electric, Canal Room, Cafe Wha?, the Box, SummerStage, City Winery, Highline Ballroom, and a host of others, with a lineup that includes Reggie Watts, MxPx, Sick Of It All, the New York Dolls' David Johansen (Buster Poindexter), Guided By Voices, Wyclef Jean, Superchunk, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. In tradition holds, the day after the festival closes, it will be converted into a John Varvatos festival.
